When selling your home, there are a few things you'll want to take special note of when reviewing a potential buyer's purchase contract. Here are three of the most important:
- Date of Possession. Make sure the date the buyer is willing to take title is acceptable for you. If you aren't slated to move in to your new home for a couple of months, a buyer seeking to move in immediately may not be a good match.
- Fixtures and Personal Property. Check the list of items the buyer expects to remain with the house and make sure they are items you?re willing to part with.
- The Expiration Date. While making an informed decision may take a substantial amount of consideration (and time), make sure you reach your decision within the amount of time the buyer has indicated. You won't want to miss out on an acceptable offer just because you took too long to get back to the buyer!
